Use Keyboard Shortcuts in VLC
In a previous article we presented a step-by-step guide on how to install VLC. Now I would like to switch focus to something a bit more technical, mainly how to use keyboard shortcuts in the media player. Keyboard shortcuts will help you use VLC (VideoLAN Client) in a more efficient manner. So without any further ado, here they are:
Open file – Ctrl + O
Open advanced file – Ctrl + Shift + O
Open folder – Ctrl + F
Open disc – Ctrl + D
Open network stream – Ctrl + N
Open capture device – Ctrl + C
Open location from clipboard – Ctrl + V
Save playlist to file – Ctrl + Y
Convert/Save – Ctrl + R
Streaming – Ctrl + S
Quit – Ctrl + Q
Effects and filters – Ctrl + E
Media information - I
Codec information – Ctrl + J
Bookmarks – Ctrl + B
