Safari is for Apple what Internet Explorer is to Microsoft: a web browser developed by the same company that developed the operating system it runs on; a piece of software that comes preinstalled on the operating system. The history buff will remember that Apple introduced Safari as the default web browser in Mac PS X 10.3 Panther. Leaving history aside, let’s focus on the future. Mainly on how you can use Safari in a speedier manner by taking advantage of the keyboard shortcuts it has to offer.

Here are the Safari keyboard shortcuts you can use on your Mac OS X-powered machine, grouped by category:

Browser Window Keyboard Shortcuts

Scroll page vertically (a little bit) - Up/down arrow key
Scroll page horizontally (a little bit) - left/right arrow key
Scroll page (about a whole page) - Option+arrow keys or Page Up/Page Down key
Scroll page down (about a whole page) - Spacebar
Scroll to top-left / bottom-left corner - Command+up/down arrow key
Scroll to top-left corner - Home key
Scroll to bottom-left corner - End key
Home page - Command-Home key or Command-Shift-H
Go Back - Delete key
