Use Keyboard Shortcuts in Internet Explorer 8

According to the Microsoft development team, Internet Explorer 8 is the fastest browser version of them all – and by that I mean it is faster than the outdated Internet Explorer 6 and faster than Internet Explorer 7. It is not faster than Google Chrome for example, but if you are an exclusive IE user, you won’t have anything to complain. A fast browser deserves a fast user – and this is where keyboard shortcuts come in. You can do away with the mouse and simply press a few keys on your keyboard. It will definitely make you a faster IE8 user.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts you can use in IE8:

Advertising

Help – F1

New Tab – Ctrl + T
Open link in new tab – Ctrl + Click
Duplicate Tab – Ctrl + K
Switch between tabs – Ctrl + Tab or Ctrl + Shift + Tab
Switch to a specific tab – Ctrl + X (replace X with 1 through 8, corresponding to the tab number)
Switch to last tab – Ctrl + 9
Close other tabs – Ctrl + Alt + F4
Close Tab – Ctrl + W
New Window – Ctrl + N
Quick Tabs – Ctrl + Q

Back – Alt + Left arrow
Forward – Alt + Right arrow
Find On this Page – Ctrl + F
Search box – Ctrl + E

Stop loading – Esc
Refresh – F5 or Ctrl+F5

Address bar – Alt + D
Display typed addresses – F4
Add www. and .com to your typed address – Ctrl + Enter

Open search query in a new tab – Alt + Enter
Open search provider menu – Ctrl + Down arrow

Open – Ctrl + O
Print – Ctrl + P
Printing options – Alt + P
Change paper, headers and footers, orientation, and margins – Alt + U
Display first page to be printed – Alt + Home
Display previous page to be printed – Alt + Left arrow
Display next page to be printed – Alt + Right arrow
Display last page to be printed – Alt + End
Type the number of the page you want displayed - Alt+A
Close Print Preview – Alt + C

Cut – Ctrl + X
Copy – Ctrl + C
Paste – Ctrl + V
Select All – Ctrl + A
Save page – Ctrl + S

Home page – Alt + Home
Favorites – Ctrl + Shift + I
Organize Favorites – Ctrl + B
History – Ctrl + Shift + H
Feeds – Ctrl + Shift +J

Zoom in – Ctrl + - (minus sign)
Zoom out – Ctrl + + (plus sign)
Reset zoom level – Ctrl + 0 (zero)
Full screen – F11

Caret Browsing – F7

Delete Browsing History – Ctrl + Shift + Del
InPrivate Browsing – Ctrl + Shift + P
InPrivate Filtering – Ctrl + Shift + F

Developer tools – F12
