Use Keyboard Shortcuts in Gmail
No matter if you just created a Gmail account or if you have had one for quite some time, there is one thing that you should know: using the mouse is all fine and all, but it is not as fast as using a keyboard shortcut. The Google developed email client Gmail comes with several keyboard shortcuts that you could put to good use. A complete and detailed list is presented below, but before you try to use them, you must first turn keyboard shortcuts on 9see tips and warnings below).
Here are the actions you can perform in Gmail and the keyboard shortcuts attached to them:
Compose – C
Compose in a new window – Shift + C
Place cursor in the search box - /
Move to a newer conversation – K
Move to an older conversation - J
Open a message or expand a conversation – Enter or O
Next message – N
Previous message - P
Return to conversation list – U
Archive – E
Mute – M
Select conversation – X
Star message/conversation – S
Report spam (mark as spam) - !
Reply – R
Reply to all – A
Forward - F
Exit input field - Esc
Save draft – Ctrl + S
Delete conversation - #
Labels menu – L
Move conversation from the inbox – V
Mark message as read – Shift + I
Mark message as unread – Shift + U
Archive conversation and move to previous conversation – [
Archive conversation and move to next conversation – ]
Undo - Z
Update current conversation – Shift + N
Move cursor to chat search – Q
Remove message/conversation from current view – Y (Does not apply to Spam, Sent and All Mail)

Keyboard shortcuts in Gmail only work if you activate the option. A detailed tutorial on this topic is available here.
If you want to enhance the way Gmail looks, you could activate a theme; if on the other hand you want to enhance the way it works, you could enable a Gmail Labs feature.
And when you no longer want to keep your Gmail account, you can always delete it .
