Previously we’ve shown you how to install BitTorrent, the free, open source file-sharing application that comes in handy when you want to download very large software and media files from P2P and torrent sites, such as The Pirate Bay. Now that you have BitTorrent installed on your system, you could use the mouse to access some of its features. But it would be a lot easier if you just used a keyboard shortcut. Not to mention the fact that by using a keyboard shortcut you will impress your friends with your computer skills.
Here are the keyboard shortcuts that you can use in BitTorrent:
Add torrent – Ctrl + O
Add torrent (no default save) – Ctrl + D
Add torrent from URL – Ctrl + U
Create new torrent – Ctrl + N
Move torrent down queue - Ctrl + Alt + Down
Move torrent up queue - Ctrl + Alt + Up
Remove torrent - Delete
Remove torrent and relete .torrent + data - Shift + Delete
Rename torrent - F2
Preferences – Ctrl + P
RSS downloader – Ctrl + R
Speed guide – Ctrl + G
Show toolbar – F4
Show detailed info – F5
Show status bar – F6
Show category list – F7
Remove RSS History Entry Delete
Remove RSS Favorite Delete
Rename RSS Favorite F2
Remove RSS history entry - Delete
Remove RSS favorite - Delete
Rename RSS favorite - F2
Copy selected logger tab text - Ctrl+C
Copy statistics dialog Text - Ctrl+C
Reload flags.bmp / flags.conf Ctrl+Shift+R
Remove tracker (from Trackers list) Delete

Tips and warnings
You can also elect a Boss key (a combination of keys that hides the BitTorrent window and system tray icon). Just press Ctrl + P to access the Preferences window -> click the General tab from the list to the left -> in the Privacy section type in the letter that will be associated with the Boss Key. For example if you type in A, the boss key will be Alt + A. You could have accessed the Preferences section by using the moue – click the gear-like icon from the list at the top, the last one to the right. But that would not be in keeping with the keyboard shortcut theme we’ve got going on here.
