Uninstall a Program in Vista
Some software applications or programs you will always keep on your computer; other programs you will download, install, put to the test and a while later grow tired of them and never use them again. Programs that are no longer used should be uninstalled for the simple reason that when something has run its usefulness, you can discard it. Not to mention the fact that uninstalling a software application frees up hard disk space.
Here is what you have to do to uninstall programs in Windows Vista:
Step 1. Click the Start button. You can find it in the bottom left hand corner of the screen.
Step 2. In the menu that appears click Control Panel -> then click Programs -> then click Programs and Features.
Step 3. From the list, select the program you would like to permanently remove from your Windows Vista-powered system and click Uninstall
Step 4. Confirm the fact that you want to continue by clicking Yes when presented with the Are you sure you want to uninstall PROGRAMNAME?

Tips and warnings
- After you click uninstall you may be prompted for an administrator password or confirmation. You should type in the password or provide the confirmation.
- Sometimes the program you want to uninstall is not in the list. One explanation for this fact would be that it may have been written for another version of Windows. Check the info that came with the program to find out how to uninstall it.
