Here on the How To section on FindMySoft the topic of helping you erase cookies from your computer has been on our mind. Consequently we’ve already covered a detailed tutorial on how to manually delete cookies in IE8 and how to automatically delete cookies in IE8. And just to be safe, we’ve also shown you how to export/save cookies as well as how to verify that the cookies have been deleted.

The problem with those tutorials is they show you how to delete all the cookies stored on your hard drive – no exception, no omission. Some of you might want to delete only certain cookies, or they might want to keep certain cookies on their computer. Here is how you can delete individual cookies in Internet Explorer 8 – right within the web browser.

Step 1. Launch Internet Explorer 8.

Step 2. In the top left hand corner of the screen there’s a list of menus. Click Tools.

Step 3. A dropdown menu will appear. Click Internet Options (at the bottom).

Step 4. In the Browsing history section of the Internet Options window that just appeared click Settings.

Step 5. A new window called Temporary Internet Files and History Settings has appeared. Click View Files.

Step 6. A Windows Explorer window will open; it will display the contents of the Temporary Internet Files folder. All the cookies are stored there. Select the ones you want to get rid of and delete them.

Step 7. When you are done close the Temporary Internet Files folder. In the Temporary Internet Files and History Settings window click OK. In the Internet Options window click OK and you’re done.

Tips and warnings
You should not have any problems location the cookie files, but just in case here is a brief explanation: they are the only text documents in the Temporary Internet Files folder. All of them include the word cookie in the title. For example the Google cookie is called something like cookie:XYZ@google.
To delete a cookie simply select it and press Delete on your keyboard.
