Here is the scenario I have in mind, scenario that will help you understand how to restore recently closed tabs in Firefox:
Step 1. Launch the Firefox browser.
Step 2. Assuming you only have one tab open, open a second tab. Navigate to the site of your choice.
For the purposes of this tutorial (and because you already have Firefox up and running if you're reading this), go to FindMySoft.com by clicking this link - FindMySoft will open in a new tab.
Step 3. Now close the FindMySoft tab.
Step 4. From the list of menus at the top, click History.
Step 5. In the menu that appears go to Recently Closed Tabs -> click FindMySoft. The tab will be restored.
Tips and warnings
- Use this feature every time you accidentally close a tab. The last 10 tabs you’ve closed are displayed in the Recently Closed Tabs section.
- During steps 2 I asked you to open a new tab. There are several ways you can do this:
- press Ctrl + T
- click File -> click New tab.
- middle click a link to open it in a new tab. Hold down Ctrl and left click a link to open the homepage in a new button.
- If you don’t like the fact that the tab bar is always displayed, you could always hide it. A detailed tutorial on this topic is available here. It should be mentioned that the tab bar will reappear when you open more than one tab. But if you’re that kind of person that rarely if ever opens more than one tab, then hiding the tab bar will free up some space in the main Firefox window.
