Install Google Chrome (Windows)
Below is a detailed tutorial on how to install the Google developed Chrome web browser on your Windows-powered machine. You are very well advised to install Chrome on your system for one simple reason: it has the fastest JavaScript engine on the market today. This means it will let you browse the web at incredible speeds. You don’t have to set it as your default browser; you could install it, try it out and decide what to do afterwards. If you like the software, keep it. Set it as your default browser even. If you do not like it, then remove it from your system.
Here is what you have to do to install Google Chrome.
Step 1. Click this link -> a new tab will open -> click Download Google Chrome.
Step 2. The Google Chrome Terms of Service window will appear. Go through the terms if you want, then click Accept and Install.
It’s not like you have a choice here; unless you accept Google’s terms of service, you cannot install Chrome. It’s as simple as that.
Step 3. Wait for the Google Chrome installer to be downloaded to your system.
Step 4. The Welcome to Google Chrome window will popup.
At this point it would be a good idea to uncheck the box next to Make Google Chrome the default browser if you want to stick with your current default browser. If you want to make Chrome the default browser on your system, leave the box checked.
It might also be a good idea to click the Customize these settings link. It will let you choose if you want Chrome to:
- import settings from your currently installed, default browser
- create a desktop icon
- create a quick launch icon
Step 5. Click Start Google Chrome
Step 6. Google Chrome will now launch. The task of installing the browser is complete.
