Disable/Uninstall Add-ons in Firefox
Apart from being a properly good piece of software, there is one more thing that makes Mozilla’s Firefox web browser great – I am of course talking about the incredibly long list of add-ons you can use to change the way the browser looks and works. Getting an add-on for the Firefox web browser is as straightforward as it gets: just visit the official add-ons web page (click here), select an add-on and click Add to Firefox. But what if after installing an add-on you decide that it does not suit your needs/tastes and you want to get rid of it.
If you no longer want to use a particular Firefox add-on you can either disable it or uninstall it. Disabling an add-on means that it is still there, just that it is not being used. Uninstalling it means that the browser no longer uses it because it removed it completely. Here is what you have to do to achieve this task:
Step 1. The first thing you need to do is launch the Firefox browser.
Step 2. In the upper part of the Firefox window there’s a list of menus -> click Tools.
Step 3. In the dropdown menu that appears click Add-ons.
Step 4. The Add-ons window should have popped up. There you will see a list of all the installed add-ons. Click the add-on you want to get rid off.
Step 5. Click Disable or Uninstall. If you clicked the latter you need to confirm your actions by clicking Uninstall when presented with the Do you want to uninstall AddonName? prompt. It may be necessary to restart the browser when all this is done.
