Delete a Folder
As time goes by you gather more and more data on your Windows-powered computer. Your music playlist increases, your collection of videos gets larger and large, and the amount of other file types increases as well. All this data, all these file types are stored in folders. What do you do when you no longer need that data? You can delete the folder and all the contents within it. There are several ways you can do this, just read below.
How to delete a folder – The Drag and Drop Method
Step 1. Select the folder you want to delete.
Step 2. Drag and drop that folder onto the Recycle Bin icon on your desktop or onto the Recycle Bin icon in Windows Explorer.
Step 3. When presented with the Are you sure you want to remove the folder X and all its components? message, confirm your actions by clicking Yes (or by pressing Enter on your keyboard).
How to delete a folder – The Right Click Method
Step 1. Select the folder you want to get rid of.
Step 2. Right click the folder.
Step 3. In the dropdown menu that appears click Delete.
Step 4. Confirm your actions by clicking Yes (or by pressing Enter on your keyboard) when presented with theAre you sure you want to remove the folder X and all its components? message.
How to delete a folder – The Keyboard Method
Step 1. Locate and select the folder you would like to delete.
Step 2. On your keyboard, press the Delete button.
Step 3. A notification message will appear: Are you sure you want to remove the folder X and all its components? To proceed with the delete process press Enter (or click Yes).
Tips and warnings
When you delete a folder you automatically delete all of its contents. Make sure there isn’t something in that folder that you would not want to delete.
