Delete Subtitles Downloaded by BS.Player
One of the things I like about the BS.Player media player is that when you open a video file (like a movie, or a TV show episode) it will automatically search for subtitles; it will locate subtitles in various languages, then prompt you to download one or more subtitles. I like to get the English subtitles, even though the movie is already in English. This way I have a visual confirmation of what I hear (I will admit that I am a bit hard of hearing).
The thing is that when you’re done watching the video file, you will probably forget that BS.Player downloaded and saved these subtitles locally. You might want to remove these subtitles if you no longer need them. Here is what you have to do:
Step 1. Open Windows Explorer or any other file management software you have (like Total Commander for example).
Step 2. Now go to where you installed the BS.Player media player.
If you went with the default directory when you installed BS.Player, then you need to go to C:/Program Files/Webteh/BSplayer
Step 3. In the BS.Player directory, double click the cache folder.
Step 4. Delete all the files in there. All the subtitles BS.Player downloaded, and I mean all of them, are stored in that folder. You won’t be able to easily recognize the subtitles because their name is just a long string of letters and numbers.
Step 5. Close Windows Explorer (or Total Commander) and you’re done. If the files were moved to the Recycle Bin, you could remove them for good by emptying the Recycle Bin (right click the Recycle Bin -> select Empty Recycle Bin).

- Did you know that you could set it up so that BS.Player will automatically shut down your computer when the video/movie you were watching ends? If you didn’t, check out this tutorial.
- And if you don’t like how the BS.Player user interface looks like, you could always change it (see here).
