If you want to changer your Yahoo! Messenger password, you should know that doing so is not as difficult as you might think. Just follow the steps presented below and you should be okay.

Step 1. Launch the Yahoo! Messenger application -> type in your username and password and click Sign In.

Step 2. In the top left hand corner of the Yahoo! Messenger window there’s a list of menus. Click Messenger.

Step 3. From the dropdown menu that appears click My Account Info

Step 4. Your web browser will launch and you will be directed to a Yahoo! web page. Type in your password and click Sign In.

Step 5. The Account Information page will load after you click Sign In. In the Sign In and Security section click Change your password.

Step 6. You will be directed to the Change your Yahoo! Password webpage. You must type in your current password, type in your new password and confirm the new password (by retyping it). When you are done click Save.

Step 7. You will be directed to a page that says You have successfully chosen a new Password. Click Continue and you will be taken back to the Account Information page.

Step 8. Click Sign Out and you’re done.

Tips and warnings
  • After you’ve changed your Yahoo! Messenger password you will not be signed out of the instant messaging application. But the next time you sign in, remember to type in your new password.
  • Please note that by changing your Yahoo! Messenger password you will change your Yahoo! Mail and other Yahoo! online services password as well. You are not changing the password for Yahoo! Messenger alone, you are changing the password for your Yahoo! Account (the one that you use to access all of Yahoo!’s services).
  • Follow these guidelines to keep your password safe and protected.
