Change the Language in BitTorrent
The BitTorrent software application provides support for a large number of languages. At the time of writing this, BitTorrent supports a total of 49 different languages. But this is not obvious to novice BitTorrent users. We’ve presented a detailed tutorial on how to install BitTorrent and nowhere during the installation process is the user asked to select a language. Hence the user may think that BitTorrent is only available in English, when in fact BitTorrent is available in plenty of other languages.
The trick is that you have to play with the software application’s settings a bit to uncover this. It is nothing too complicated as you will see from the comprehensive tutorial presented below. If you do, you will be able to get BitTorrent to use your native language – assuming of course it is one of the 49 supported languages.
Here is what you have to do to change the language in BitTorrent
Step 1. Changing the language has to be done from within BitTorrent, so launch the application.
In this regard you can double click the BitTorrent icon on your desktop, click the BitTorrent icon on the Start Menu, type in bittorrent.exe in Run, or any other method you use to launch the application.
Step 2. Take a look at the top left hand corner of the BitTorrent window. There you will see three menus: File, Options and Help. Click Options.
Step 3. A dropdown menu will appear. Click Preferences.
Step 4. The Preferences window will appear. From the left hand side, click General.
Step 5. Now look to the right hand side. In the Language section there is a dropdown menu. Click that dropdown menu and select the language of your choice.
Step 6. When you’ve made your selection, click Apply -> a popup will appear informing you that the changes will be applied only after you restart BitTorrent -> click OK to close the popup.
Step 7. Restart BitTorrent and you will see that the software application now uses the language you’ve chosen.
