If you regularly visit a specific webpage, chances are that you know that site’s address by heart. At some time you won’t event need to type in the full address in Firefox’s address bar, also known as the Awesome Bar. The reason why it is called the Awesome Bar is because of it awesomeness, obviously. At some point you will only need to type a letter and the web page you want to visit shows up right away. For example I only need to type in H and the link to the How To section on FindMySoft automagically appears.

What about the sites that you do not visit on a day-to-day basis, the site you visit once a week or once a month for example? To be able to come back to those sites you will need to bookmark them. There are several way you can bookmark a site in Firefox.

How to bookmark a site using the keyboard:

Step 1. Visit the web page you want to bookmark. This can be a web page you are already familiar with (in which case just type in its URL in the address bar), or a site you’ve just now stumbled upon.

Step 2. On the webpage you want to bookmark, press Ctrl + D. A Page bookmarked popup should have appeared. Provide a name for the bookmarked page, select the folder you want to store the bookmark in, and provide tags for the bookmark if you want to.

Step 3. Click Done and you’re, well, done. You can access that bookmarked webpage from the Bookmarks tab.

How to bookmark a site using the mouse:

Step 1. Visit the web page you want to bookmark. Just as stated above, simply type in the site’s URL in the address bar, or browse the web until you find a site that deservers to be bookmarked.

Step 2. In the address bar click the star icon. If the star icon turns yellow, the site has been bookmarked. You can access it by clicking the Bookmarks tab -> in the dropdown menu go to Recently Bookmarked.

Step 3. If you click the now yellow star icon you can edit the bookmark: you can provide a name for the bookmarked page, select the folder you want to store the bookmark in, and provide tags for the bookmark if you want to. Click Done when you’re finished.

Tips and warnings
You can also bookmark a web site via the drag and drop method. It goes something like this: drag and drop a tab onto the bookmarks toolbar. Or drag and drop the icon to the left of the URL onto the bookmarks toolbar.
To put your bookmarks in order click the Bookmarks tab-> select Organize Bookmarks.
