The first versions of Google Chrome did not offer much from a visual customization point of view. With the launch of Chrome version 3.0 though, this has changed. The Mountain View-based search engine giant has added themes support to its browser and has launched a Themes Gallery. At the time the offering was pretty week – there were only 29 themes and they didn't look all that great.
Things have changed a lot since the launch of Themes Gallery. There is now a Themes by Artists section and it is filled with some pretty interesting offerings. To try them out you need only apply one of these themes. Here’s how you can easily do this in Chrome:
Step 1. Launch the Chrome Browser.
If you’re already reading this tutorial, chances are chrome is already up and running. But then again you could be viewing this with Internet Explorer, Firefox, or some other browser.
Step 2. From the top right hand corner of the Chrome window click the wrench menu.
Step 3. Click Options from the dropdown menu that appears.
Step 4. The Google Chrome Options window will appear. At the top there are three tabs: Basics, Personal Stuff and Under the hood. Click the Personal Stuff tab.
Step 5. In the Themes section at the bottom, click the Get themes button.
Step 6. A new tab will open and you will be directed to the Themes Gallery webpage. Find a theme that you like -> click its name to see a preview -> if you like it then click Apply theme and wait for Chrome to download it.
Step 7. Close the Google Chrome Options window and you’re done.

- You can visit the Themes Gallery here.
- Once you’ve activated a theme, a prompt will appear asking you if you would like to Undo this change. You know, just in case you applied a theme and immediately realized it is not to your taste.
