People who work in sales often say that they can “read” customers; they claim that they can take a look at a customer and accurately say if a customer is willing to spend money or not. Such claims are not without merit. As it turns out, you can find out a lot about someone by simply looking at their facial characteristics. That’s what the UNIPHIZ Lab-developed application Digital Physiognomy does – it tells you about a person’s character based on that person’s facial characteristics.

At 3.9MB, the Digital Physiognomy download is quite lightweight; this means it will take but a moment to get the application off the web and onto your computer. It will also take but a moment to install it on your Windows-powered computer (any Windows version from 98 up to Windows 7). It’s a simple process of going through the steps presented by a setup wizard.

The first time you run Digital Physiognomy you will be presented with a Tip of the Day. Browsing through the tips you can find out some interesting information, like the fact that most people form their first impression of someone based on their intuition, even when they are not familiar with the concept of physiognomy. If you’ve read all the tips and don’t want to bother with them anymore, uncheck the “Show tips at startup” box.

Digital Physiognomy comes with built-in gallery of photos – it includes celebrities like Bono and Antonio Banderas. Select Bono for example and Digital Physiognomy will tell you a bit more about Bono’s characteristics based on his facial characteristics. You see, Digital Physiognomy uses a sophisticated neural network to identify correlations between facial features and psychological characteristics using photo identification techniques recognized by law enforcement professionals. You have access to a graphic that presents a detailed character analysis of Bono, based on the psychological traits Digital Physiognomy identified.

You can, of course, use a picture of yourself to find out what Digital Physiognomy has to say about your personality. A registered version of the face reading software will present you with 15 psychological characteristics (there are considerably fewer in the trial version).

You may not be able to read someone’s face, but Digital Physiognomy can. Use this application to find out what someone’s facial characteristics say about his personality.

Pros

Works with just about any Windows version and takes little time to install. The Tip of the Day can provide some interesting information. There’s a built-in gallery of images, mostly celebrities. Digital Physiognomy uses a sophisticated algorithm to identify psychological traits based on facial characteristics. Graph and text version of Digital Physiognomy’s findings.

Cons

The number of psychological characteristics is severely limited in the trial version. The reminder that appears when you’re using the trial version can get to be annoying.
